In faithful response to God's love, we engage people of faith in the ministry of advocacy for policies that support peace, justice and care for all of God's creation.

Welcome!

People of faith must step boldly into the public square and exert their individual and collective political power for the sake of the common good. This is not a choice but a moral imperative based on scripture, faith traditions, and God’s call to live out our faith in the public world. -- ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson

We appreciate your interest in LOPPW and invite you explore our website. We are a ministry of advocacy for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America expressed through partnership of the six ELCA synods with congregations in Wisconsin, the ELCA Church in Society Program Unit, and the World Hunger Program.

The purpose of LOPPW is to advocate for justice, protect human rights, to ensure the responsible stewardship of God’s creation with a special emphasis on hunger and poverty, and to reconcile the estranged by speaking for those who have little or no political power.

Use this website to sign up for advocacy alerts, learn more about legislative issues in Wisconsin, or to invite LOPPW to speak to your congregation about important issues facing Wisconsin.

Blessings,
Amy Johnson
